Hello there, average internet user, let me ask you a single question, if you could fight against your subconscious demons to get rid of them, would you do it?

Dice Crawler is an arcade and strategy single player game where you have to go through a world of dice. It has been developed with Godot for the GMTK game jam 2022. The theme of the jam was "roll of the dice". The gameplay relies on making the optimal play based in a controlled randomness in order to get through dungeons filled with dangers and treasure. It proposes to create a unique video game by mixing arcade, dungeons and strategy, creating new and unusual possibilities of having fun.

Neat concept and interesting mechanics. Really well done for a game jam too. I may have run into a bug at the end. The boss walked into a pillar and died on the 2nd turn.

Couple things I'm curious about.
- Why the cross and what are the red/orange tabs. Just realizing post-game that I didn't notice those.

- Why do arrows show up in the top that I didn't choose?

- What does the blue icon do?

Good stuff!

Hi! Thank you for your feedback, we'll look into the bug. As for your questions:

  • The cross is intended to represent a die cube flattened on a surface, it is just a visual gimmick, the red/orange tabs allow you to switch between dice, as you can have up to four, each rolled individually and with its own set of faces.
  • The blue icon is a shield that shows you how many shields you've accumulated that round.

Thanks for playing!
